Sometimes we do ask ourselves if we really want to advertise our skills regarding conversion projects. We have been involved to various degrees in some, and… well, they’re not easy. Quite often the documentation of the original vessel is as patchy as the last paint job and even a thorough survey of the boat might not reveal all of the project’s potential pitfalls.
Also, let’s be very clear about one thing. If you’re looking for a bargain or do a conversion on the quick and dirty, please look elsewhere.
For everybody else, this could be the most amazing project you’ve ever done. First of all, the team you’re dealing with will be as enthusiastic as you are. Most of them do this rather than yet another white boat for a reason. We love ‘proper’ boats that go everywhere. With a decent hull that is made for the sea, not just to get the maximum of cabins inside. And that’s even more true for an icebreaker like the one shown above. Oh, and did we already mentioned that it comes with heritage and pedigree? Like a vintage Ferrari, even though it doesn’t look like it.
And when it comes to conversions we believe it is important to keep the soul of the original vessel alive. That doesn’t mean we’ll skip the comforts of a leisure boat, but she still comes with a lot of character!
