We know of course that the famous bear from the Jungle Book advises us to take things easy. When you have all the bare necessities and the bees are doing the hard work for you, what more can you ask for? A few ants and life’s a beach.
We also learn that scratching your back is a wonderful past time and that palm trees are just perfect for doing so. Whether or not you’d need to rip out the whole tree is a matter of personal preferences. We don’t think it’s strictly necessary , but it might happen when you get carried away a bit occasionally.
From a designer’s point of view palm trees do have rather interesting properties. Apart from being rather nice looking trees that evoke dreams of tropical beaches and white sand and turquoise water. Mind you, the white sand is actually a problem if you really think you want to use palm wood for furniture and interiors. Lodged in the structure of the wood it’s known for ruining saws. Just saying…
Apart from that it’s particularly the intriguing surfaces of the palm tree trunks that catch our attention and make us think of how this could be applied in our designs.
