New Location

Feels a bit like new everything really. But that’s fine. We were wondering if we feel the same sense of adventure that we felt the first week in Mallorca, all those years ago. We remember it was scary and cool. There were issues with the removal company and our stuff was in limbo for days. We bought a mattress and a few essentials and we grilled sausages on a little barbecue on the balcony. We had a computer but we had to go to the internet cafe down the road to use the internet.

But now it’s 2019 and life is a bit different. To start with, life is different when it’s not just the two of us. With Gabriel, life is definitely different at any time, and especially when you’re starting a new adventure. And to make things a bit more challenging we came here while starting pretty much from zero. No pressure!

At least we didn’t have to barbecue. The removal van arrived in time. We are already familiar with the ins and outs of Spanish bureaucracy. The internet via the mobile phone is quick enough for work…

And then there is Valencia. We already love the city. It was a young and vibrant atmosphere but it’s very relaxed at the same time. In other words, it is what Barcelona – at least in our eyes – isn’t any more. Cool and inspiring. Valencia is not totally overrun by tourists, it’s not a huge city. Everything can be reached nicely, and the beach is just 10 minutes by bus fro where we are. Bang on in the centre. In our street we have lots of bars and cafes and restaurants. Let’s hope it’s not too noisy. It feels good being here. Now, let the story begin.

Oh, and if you happen to visit the city, please give us a shout. We’re always up for a cortado!
